What do I need to bring for registration?You must present an ID. There will be designated registration areas for general/student admission and VIP/speaker/sponsor admission.

Where can I view the conference schedule?The conference-day schedule will be updated in the coming weeks. Tune in here or our social media.

Where can I get food and drink at TEDxCUNY?A selection of snacks and refreshments will be available throughout the day. John Jay College has an available cafe, and there are numerous food options nearby the venue.

Can I take photos or videos during the talks and performances?During talks and performances, we request that all cell phones are silent or turned off. Absolutely no recording devices or flash photography will be permitted. All talks and performances will be available online after the conference.

What should I wear?Anything you are comfortable in and expresses who you are! We do not have a dress code.

Emily Madray
Lead Organizer
Emily is a junior at the Macaulay Honors College at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, studying Political Science and Government, English, and Human Rights. She is passionate about cultivating positive change in every space she is in. In her free time, she enjoys reading novels, trying new cuisines, exploring New York City, dancing, and practicing her faith.
Maya Demchak-Gottlieb
Director of Speakers and Programing
Maya is a junior at the Macaulay Honors College at Baruch College. She is double majoring in English and Journalism/Creative Writing and minoring in Law & Business and NYC Studies. She is passionate about words, both using them and reading them. In her free time, she enjoys writing articles, poetry and fiction; drawing and debating.
Cindy Lin
Co-Director of Media and Marketing
Cindy is a junior majoring in political science on a pre-med track attending Brooklyn College. She loves to learn about the world and government through different lenses. Her favorite activities to do in her free time include cooking and watching movies.
Ryan Hybner

Ryan is a Baruch Scholars Junior at Baruch College majoring in Finance with a minor in Sociology. He is passionate about giving back to his community and taking on new opportunities to grow professionally and personally. In his free time, Ryan likes to volunteer, read, watch horror films, and explore the city with his friends.

Rachel is a freshman at Hunter College hoping to major in English, minor in Computer Science, and obtain a certificate in Business. She is passionate about the power of language and the impact of words. In her free time, she enjoys reading, watching movies, and spending time with friends.

Selina is a freshman at the Macaulay Honors College at Hunter College, who is double majoring in Computer Science and Philosophy. She is passionate about personal development, impactful work that serves a deeper, meaningful purpose, and understanding the experiences of others. In her free time, she enjoys reading about psychology and ethics, listening to interviews and podcasts, and learning subjects that pique her curiosity.
Nakib Abedin

Nakib is a freshman majoring in Computer Science at the Macaulay Honors College (Hunter Campus). In his free time, he likes to play basketball, go to the gym, and learn different kinds of martial arts. He loves to try new things, and currently, he is in the process of learning how to cook.

Mamoona is majoring in Psychology and on a Pre-med Track at Macaulay Honors at Hunter College. She is passionate about social advocacy and public speaking. During her free time, she enjoys practicing makeup and Citi-bikes in Central Park.

Logistics and Audience Engagement Curator
Micki is a first-year student at the Macaulay Honors College at Baruch College. She is majoring in finance and double minoring in communication studies and honors in New York City. She is passionate about self-improvement and always looks for ways to enhance her skills and broaden her knowledge. She enjoys reading mangas and watching K-dramas, C-dramas, and anime in her free time.

Aliyah is a Macaulay Honors Senior at Baruch College majoring in Marketing and minoring in Graphic Arts. She is passionate about learning new creative software programs and researching innovative strategies to enhance brand visibility and market presence. During her free time you'll find her trying new coffee spots, baking, and visiting new places she found on TikTok with friends.

Noemi is a first-year student at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. She is currently majoring in Political Science and minoring in Law. She hopes to become an attorney in the future and also open her own non-profit in support of children with food insecurities, lack of necessities, and education. In her free time, she enjoys the gym and true crime documentaries.

Nidhi is pursuing a Computer Information Systems Major at Baruch College, and a Women and Gender Studies Minor. She is passionate about creating space for all to thrive and succeed. Nidhi enjoys watching Bollywood films and deep-diving the Architectural Digest YouTube.

Manya is a freshman at the Macaulay Honors College at Baruch College. She is currently majoring in Industrial Organizational Psychology. She is very passionate about skincare and taking care of your skin. Manya enjoys doing little crafts in her free time, such as painting and crocheting.

Saanavi is a Macaulay Honors Student at City College of New York. She is majoring in Computer Science with a minor in Management and Business Administration. She has loved listening to TED talks for as long as she remembers, and is absolutely delighted to be a part of the team. During free time, Saanavi loves dancing, painting, reading non-fiction, and hanging out with friends!

Director of Logistics and Audience Engagement
Ioanna is a Macaulay Honors student at Hunter College pursuing Psychology and Studio Art as a double major. She is deeply interested in the human condition and loves fostering connections with people. Ioanna dabbles in mixed media, ceramics, and painting during her free time. She always ends the day by playing guitar or reading one of her nerdy non-fiction books.

Leimi is a senior at Macaulay Honors College at Hunter College. She is majoring in Biochemistry and minoring in Asian American studies. She is interested in learning the intersection between language and science. Leimi also enjoys reading Japanese literature, drawing, and hiking in her free time.

They are passionate about dismantling systems of oppression through community building, education, and policy.
